Find the answer to your question

Apply in just three steps:

  1. Click Join the Queue.
  2. Choose the school you want to apply for (Every school has its own queue. You can place your child in the queue from 1 February the year after they were born).
  3. Fill in the form including your details and those of your child so that we can stay in touch and let you know if a place becomes available.
Most of our schools begin their intake for the following academic year in the autumn term. The length of the process depends on how quickly we hear back from families who are offered places.
Write to the school in question and let them know your queue ID number or personnummer and the information that you would like to change. You can find contact details for our schools here.
There are no fees to attend IES schools. Our schools are funded in the same way as those run by the municipality, through the Swedish tax system and the school voucher (skolpeng).

ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

Preschool class and primary school at IES

At Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES), our education starts from preschool class. With us, your child will learn to thrive in a bilingual environment.

Choosing a school for your child is one of the most important decisions you, as a parent, will make.

At Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES), our education starts from preschool class. With us, your child will learn to thrive in a bilingual environment. English is gradually introduced through play and song and Swedish is heard all around the school, spoken by staff members and other students. No prior knowledge of English is needed. This creates a solid foundation for a natural development of both Swedish and English. Our students also benefit from a truly international culture, where teachers and fellow classmates hail from many different countries and backgrounds.

From preschool class, we lay the groundwork for lifelong learning. Our goal is to provide your child with a calm, safe, and welcoming learning environment, where daily interactions with school leaders, teachers, and other staff are the norm. Through clear goals and expectations, we create the conditions for your child to experience the satisfaction of meeting and exceeding their learning objectives early on. We believe in challenging each student by promoting "grit", the inner motivation to overcome obstacles and reach their full potential.

Welcome to Internationella Engelska Skolan.

Your choice of school

As a parent, you have the right to actively choose where your child will study, whether you opt for a municipal school or an independent school.

Popular schools, with more applicants than available places, use different methods to determine which children are offered a place.

While municipal schools usually offer places to those who live closest, many independent schools use a queuing system. This means that those who have been in the queue the longest will have the greatest chance of being offered a place at their desired school. At IES, we use this queuing system, and each of our schools has its own queue.
